Our MissioN
As a 501(c)(3) organization, we assist the Helen Plum Library in meeting their mission by raising funds to supplement the Library’s operating budget.
These funds help with collections, technology, programs, services, and upkeep and betterment of the building and grounds, and more. Recently, the Foundation funded a program for Library Card Sign Up Month, snacks for the staff for an in-service, and provided book bags for the Grand Opening of the new library.
Projects
In 2025, an upcoming project will involve the restoration of the original Helen Plum portrait. The Conservation Center in Chicago is analyzing the portrait and the original frame to decide necessary conservation steps. More details to come on this exciting project.
In 2024, our Foundation gave a donation to the library to begin a new early reading program “Grow a Reader.” The program encourages reading to children from birth through age five and includes fun activities along the way.
Over 5000 books have been logged by readers so far!
